WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

About Founder

Shri K.K. Dawar, an 83-year-old retired businessman, has lived a life marked by resilience, dedication, and a profound commitment to spirituality. Born during the tumultuous period of the India-Pakistan partition, he moved to India at a young age and worked tirelessly to rebuild his life. He earned an engineering degree and began his career at the Reserve Bank of India, subsequently working with Indian Railways and the Delhi Development Authority before ultimately venturing into independent business.Despite facing significant financial challenges post-partition, with some family members unable to earn a livelihood, Shri Dawar singlehandedly supported 16 members of his extended family, including his own children and parents, through his hard work and determination. From a young age, he was deeply inspired by the teachings of Swami Vivekananda and was an avid reader of spiritual literature. This influence shaped his worldview and motivated him to dedicate a portion of his earnings to ashrams involved with spiritual activities.Over decades he observed a sharp decline among the general public to appreciate and practice Mantra chanting as part of the daily routine apart from growing apathy towards sadhus. Now, in the twilight of his life, he has taken a monumental step by establishing a Trust to preserve and promote the ancient treasure of Vedic mantra chanting by supporting existing Vedshaalas and creating new ones across the country. The Trust will also support NGOs engaged in providing food and shelter to sadhus.Shri Dawar envisions a future where the younger generation of India can rediscover the benefits of this age-old science, which is on the verge of getting extinct from India but is increasingly gaining recognition in other countries. Through his Trust, he seeks to ensure that this invaluable heritage continues to thrive in our country, benefiting both present and future generations.

A Visionary of Compassion, Creativity, and Purpose

Puja Dawar Rao, the younger daughter of the founder, stands as a reflection of his visionary ideals, embracing his mission with dedication and ingenuity. Now serving as the Managing Trustee of the Anubhuti Trust, she has carved a distinctive path as a Counseling Psychologist and Career Advisor. Her empathetic and nurturing demeanor has earned her immense admiration from her students, while her out-of-the-box and forward-thinking approach has transformed education into a tool for empowerment and innovation. In 1997, long before internships became a cornerstone of professional development, she recognized their potential as a transformative opportunity for students who struggled academically. Driven by her belief in her students’ abilities, she approached offices and multinational corporations, successfully advocating for placements that allowed students to gain real-world experience. This pioneering effort made one export house apart from Domino’s Pizza and McDonald’s relent and offer her students holistic opportunities to work in the accounts, logistics, and kitchen areas to gain an understanding of whether they were suited for these careers/jobs. This ahead-of-time idea planted the seeds of an industry that thrives today. Her visionary approach continued to break barriers. In 1998, she developed "Vision 2000," a groundbreaking proposal advocating for specialized career counseling in schools by counselors specialized in Career Counseling. At a time when the concept was virtually unheard of, she outlined a step-by-step plan for establishing a structured job description for a Career Counselor in a Delhi school with no extra work as a behavioral counselor.Though her proposal was initially dismissed as being ahead of its time, her resolve remained unshaken. Revisiting the idea in 2004, as the importance of counseling gained recognition, she successfully launched a pilot project, directly guiding all students of grades 11 and 12 irrespective of their batch size with personalized career plans—an unprecedented initiative in the field of education. Her passion to create meaningful impact extended beyond urban centers. In 2013, she introduced an ambitious project at a residential school in Rajasthan, proposing the establishment of three distinct counseling departments: Career, Behavioral, and Special Education. Her team provided consistent, hands-on support for students from grade 6 onward, transforming the school’s approach to holistic education. Despite initial skepticism from the management, her innovative model proved so effective that the project’s tenure was extended well beyond its original term. Now, as part of the Anubhuti Trust, she has turned her attention to the preservation and sustainability of Vedic Mantra chanting, combining her unmatched dedication and confidence to safeguard this invaluable cultural heritage. Her journey exemplifies the power of resilience, creativity, and a relentless commitment to fostering positive change. With her trailblazing spirit and profound dedication, she is poised to make yet another lasting impact, blending tradition with modernity to ensure the legacy of this sacred practice for generations to come.
